Hearts Forward

POSTED ON

Giving back has always been a part of who I am, and being part of a company culture that continually shows appreciation for others is vital to my workplace happiness. It keeps our people engaged, conveys a sense of purpose and allows us to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. Our CEO recently stated that as an employee engagement agency, we’re in the pursuit of “making businesses more human.”

This statement stuck with me, as I tend to think companies are just in the business of making money rather than creating a better world. I did a bit of research and discovered that corporate giving is on the rise along with employee volunteer programs. *  This came as a bit of a pleasant surprise.

Since we recently released our Giving Report, I am excited to share how we made a difference and inspired others in 2014. As a women-owned business, we focused on organizations that support women and girls. We partnered with Dress for Success, Girls Inc., and GEANCO. Dedicated time, effort, money and soul went to these charities. Some of my favorite moments include stepping out to the DFS 5K Power Walk, picking and presenting the first Brilliant Futures Scholarship and leading a workshop on time management at the PWG Summit. Not only do these activities make my heart sing, they also connect our team and encompass our values- meaningful contributions, unity, fulfillment and creative expression.

Some might say we’re committed to the cause. I’m sure glad Brilliant Ink is.
